宮島・弥山
Mount Misen rises at the center of Miyajima and has been regarded as a sacred mountain for centuries. Forest trails and a ropeway lead toward the summit, passing Buddhist halls, giant rocks, and viewpoints over the Seto Inland Sea. The mountain is associated with Kobo Daishi, and a flame at Reikado Hall is traditionally said to have been kept burning since his practice there.
