Miyajima History and Folklore Museum opened in April 1974 to preserve and pass on Miyajima's history and folk culture. It uses the main house and storehouse of the former Enochi merchant family, part of which is a registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Exhibits include artifacts, records, and artworks mainly from the Edo period onward, describing life on Miyajima, its festivals, woodworking traditions, and links to Kyoto aristocracy.
