厳島神社

Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on Miyajima dedicated to three sea deities traditionally revered for the protection of the imperial family, the nation, and seafarers. Taira no Kiyomori developed the shrine complex in the shinden-zukuri architectural style during the 12th century. The shrine was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, while Miyajima itself is counted among Japan's Three Scenic Views.
