Wakkanai Youth's & Children's Science Museum

Wakkanai Youth’s and Children’s Science Museum offers hands-on science exhibits plus Antarctic and environment galleries. City materials note models of Antarctic research ships, dog sleds used in polar work, rocks from Antarctica, and materials related to the Karafuto dogs Taro and Jiro. The museum also covers renewable energy and climate topics and houses one of the oldest operating planetariums in Hokkaido, with an observatory and laboratory.
