Kumamoto Prefectural Ancient Burial Mound Museum is a specialist museum for decorated kofun created under Japan's Fudoki-no-oka concept for protection, use, and research. Official pages note its Tadao Ando building shaped like a keyhole tomb facing Twins-zuka, the prefecture's largest keyhole mound in the Iwahara cluster, faithful interiors of normally inaccessible painted tombs, finds from Paleolithic to medieval times, outdoor haniwa park paths, and hands-on ancient crafts, with hours typically 9:30-17:15.
