Located in Tokyo, the Shibuya Folk and Literary Shirane Memorial Museum originated as a local materials room within the Ward Central Library in 1970. Following a donation from Zenchu Shirane, it opened at its current location in 1974 as the Shibuya City Shirane Memorial Local Culture Center. The facility was completely renovated in 2005 to incorporate literary functions, becoming the current museum and literary center.
