Ueda City Maruko Museum of the Homeland at Higashiuchi 2564-1, Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture (postal code 386-0413), telephone 0268-42-2158, presents local history of the former Maruko area. Official city pages list hours from 9:00 to 17:00 with last entry at 16:30, closed Mondays, the day after national holidays (or the next day when the holiday is Monday), and from 29 December to 3 January. Admission is 100 yen for high-school students and older, and free for junior-high students and younger. The museum was renamed after the March 2006 municipal merger.
