Takeshi Light and Lamp Museum at Shimotakeshi 1902-4, Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, telephone 0268-85-2474, opened on 3 November 1989 as a hands-on museum of lighting history. Official city pages list hours from 9:00 to 16:00 with last entry at 15:30, closed Mondays and the day after national holidays, and winter closure from 29 December to 31 March with reopening from 1 April. Admission is 400 yen for adults (300 yen for ages 65 and over) and 200 yen for elementary and junior-high students. Confirm seasonal calendars before travel.
