御薬園

Oyakuen, the Aizu Matsudaira Clan Garden, is a national scenic garden with more than six hundred years of history in Aizuwakamatsu. Official pages trace a Muromachi villa by a sacred spring under Ashina Morihisa, later shaped as a daimyo garden by Hoshina Masayuki and expanded with a medicinal herb garden for epidemic care under the second lord. Later generations promoted ginseng cultivation and trade from this site. Visit for seasonal tree reflections on still water and confirm current open hours before you go.
