Sakai Historical Folklore Museum in Sakai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, presents riverside-port and Nikko East Highway post-town life, including local archaeology and folk tools. Official town pages list hours from 9:00 to 16:30 with last entry at 16:00. Closed days are Mondays and public holidays, or the following day when Monday is a holiday, plus year-end closure from 28 December to 4 January. Admission is free. Access is about 40 minutes by bus from Koga Station or Tobu-dobutsu-koen Station to Sakai Garage, then a 15-minute walk east, or about five minutes by car from the Ken-O Expressway Sakai-Koga Interchange. The building opened on 31 January 1979. Confirm temporary closures before travel.
