Shiojiri Tanka-kan at Hirooka Harashinden 288-1, Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture (postal code 399-0706; telephone 0263-53-7171) exhibits materials related to tanka poets connected with Shiojiri and hosts workshops and events. Official city pages list hours from 9:00 to 16:30. Individual admission is 400 yen, or 320 yen per person for groups of 20 or more; high-school students and younger enter free. A combined ticket with Hiraide Museum and the Natural History Museum is 900 yen for individuals (720 yen for groups). Closed on Mondays, the day after public holidays, and from 29 December to 3 January. Confirm programs before travel.
