Kamaishi City Iron and Steel History Museum

釜石市立鉄の歴史館

Located in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, this museum was opened in 1985 and renovated in 1994 as a comprehensive archive for iron and steel. The facility preserves the history of local iron production and the achievements of those involved in the industry. A theater features a full-scale model of Japan's oldest blast furnace site, using light and sound to present the history of iron in Kamaishi.
