Located in Mikawa Town, Yamagata Prefecture, Atoku-sensei no Yakata is a museum housed in an old residence built in the early Showa era. The building features cypress construction and a copper roof. It is set within a large strolling garden from the Edo period, known for its extensive collection of trees and stones. This site also served as a filming location for the Academy Award-winning film Okuribito.
