Shinto shrines御嶽神社
Located in Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture, Mitake Shrine is a Shinto shrine where the main deity is Emperor Ankan. Tradition states it was founded by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro during the reign of Emperor Heizei and later moved to its current location in 1176 from Mount Komagatake. The shrine was officially designated as a village shrine in June 1877.
