Onsen Shrine

温泉神社

Located in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, Onsen Shrine was established in 835 at the site of a hot spring that erupted with boiling water. The shrine is associated with the main deities Okita-no-Mikoto and Sukehiko-no-Mikoto. Historically, it received an official rank in 910 and is considered related to other hot spring shrines across Japan, particularly those in Dogo, Arima, Nasu, and Yumoto.
