Nikka Whisky Miyagikyo Distillery

Nikka Whisky’s Miyagikyo Distillery was established in 1969 as the company’s second distillery. It lies in a forested valley west of Sendai, near the meeting of the Hirose and Nikkawa rivers, where the humid climate and water sources influenced the site’s selection. The distillery uses pot stills and column stills to produce malt and grain whiskies with a character distinct from Nikka’s Yoichi distillery.
