Benesse House Museum opened in 1992 as a combined museum and hotel designed by Tadao Ando under the concept of nature, architecture, and art living together. Official pages describe a hilltop Seto Inland Sea site with large openings to the landscape, permanent site-specific works indoors and along the shore, hours 8:00–21:00 with last entry at 20:00, year-round opening, and free admission for overnight Benesse House guests and visitors aged 15 and under.
