Located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, the Mutsu Memorial Museum is dedicated to the history of the battleship Mutsu, which sank in 1943. The museum displays and preserves items recovered from the wreckage during salvage operations starting in 1970, including main guns and personal belongings of the crew. It also exhibits materials collected from across the country to convey the consequences of war and promote a lasting peace.
