致道博物館

Chido Museum in Tsuruoka began in 1950 when the 16th Sakai lord of the former Shonai domain donated land, buildings, and inherited cultural properties to support local culture. Official history pages say the name comes from the domain school Chidokan; the grounds preserve Important Cultural Property buildings including the former Nishitagawa County Office and former Tsuruoka Police Station, plus 8 groups totaling 5,350 items designated as Important Tangible Folk Cultural Properties.
