田名向原遺跡

Located in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, the Tanamukaihara Site is a historic site dating back to the Late Paleolithic period. It features what is considered Japan's oldest confirmed building remains, characterized by hearth sites and postholes. The site is situated on a low terrace near the Sagami River. Excavations revealed numerous stone tools made primarily from obsidian, suggesting historical connections with other regions during the transition from the Paleolithic to the Jomon period.
