Shiga Fossil Museum at Nanaarashi 85-1, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture (postal code 399-7416; telephone 0263-64-3900) presents fossils including materials related to the Shiga sperm whale. Official pages state that from April 2025 admission is free and hours remain 9:00 to 17:00 with last entry at 16:30. Closed on Tuesdays from March through November (with holiday shift rules), open only on weekends and public holidays from December through February, and closed from 29 December to 3 January.
