Kyū Yasuda Garden

Kyu Yasuda Garden in Sumida is a historic stroll garden known for a heart-shaped pond once linked to Sumida River tides. Tradition traces the grounds to an early-eighteenth-century daimyo residence, later owned by Yasuda Zenjiro and donated to Tokyo before the Great Kanto Earthquake. Restored layouts were opened to the public and the garden is designated a Tokyo scenic spot as a representative Meiji-era garden. Tide effects are now recreated artificially. Come for a compact cultural garden stop near Ryogoku rather than a large city park circuit.
