Yokoamichō Park is a Tokyo metropolitan park for memorial and transmission of memory. Official history states that in Showa 5 (1930) the memorial hall (then Earthquake Memorial Hall), bell tower, and Japanese garden were completed with donations from the imperial household to ordinary people, and the park opened on September 1 as Yokoamichō Park.
