Museum Hida at the Hida Earth Wisdom Center in Gifu Prefecture is open 10:00-18:00 with last entry at 17:20. Since April 2019, Gifu residents and workers enter free; others pay 500 yen for high-school students and adults, 400 yen for groups of 20 or more, or 200 yen for pupils. Permanent galleries trace Hida craftspeople sent to build palaces and temples and nearly a century of Hida furniture, with about 100 chairs visitors may sit on. Hida is Japan's largest chair-producing area. The museum shop closed on 30 March 2026.
