The Tsukuda Machikado Museum is located in a district that retains Edo-period atmosphere near the mouth of the Sumida River. The museum houses local history and cultural materials, including two pairs of lion heads known as Ryu-ko and Kuro-koma, which are said to have protected the area from fire during past disasters. It also displays a large mikoshi and historical items related to traditional crafts and local festivals.
