Dazaifu Tenmangu

太宰府天満宮

Dazaifu Tenmangu is a Shinto shrine in Fukuoka Prefecture dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, revered as Tenjin, the deity of learning, culture, and the arts. The shrine’s history extends for more than a thousand years. Its approach leads through torii gates to a spacious precinct known for plum trees, bridges, and buildings connected with Michizane’s memory.
