Bitchū Matsuyama Castle

備中松山城

Bitchū Matsuyama Castle is a mountain castle located near the summit of Mount Gano at an altitude of 430 meters in Okayama Prefecture. It is recognized as the only mountain castle in Japan where the main keep still exists today. The site is designated as a national historic site, and parts of the keep, double turret, and earthen walls built during the Edo period are designated as important cultural properties.
