Takatō-machi History Museum at Higashi-Takato 457, Takato-machi, Ina City, Nagano Prefecture (telephone 0265-94-4444) presents local history beside Takato Castle, a Japan Top 100 Castles stamp site. Official pages list hours from 9:00 to 17:00 with last entry at 16:30. Admission is 400 yen for adults and 300 yen for groups of 20 or more; high-school students and visitors under 18 enter free, with listed disability exemptions. Closed on Mondays, the day after public holidays, and from 28 December to 3 January, plus occasional collection days. Confirm the opening calendar before travel.
