五郎山古墳館

Goroyama Kofunkan is a branch of Chikushino City History Museum devoted to reading the painted Goroyama burial mound. The city page explains that the round mound with figurative murals of people, animals, boats, and houses was found in 1947 and designated a national historic site two years later. The mound has been restored to its original profile, but the actual murals are closed for conservation; a full-size stone-chamber model opens for easier viewing. Admission is free; confirm closed Mondays and last entry times before you go.
