Nakatomi Memorial Medicine Museum

Nakatomi Memorial Medicine Museum in Tosu, Saga Prefecture, presents the industrial culture of medicine. Official materials note that the Tashiro area developed Tashiro over-the-counter medicine sales in the mid-Edo period after becoming Tsushima domain territory in 1599. The museum says it was founded as Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical’s 145th-anniversary project to preserve tools and documents that were disappearing under modernization and to offer lifelong learning about medicine and health.
