Former Yamabe School Building at Satoyamabe 2932-3, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture (postal code 390-0221; telephone 0263-32-7602) is an 1885 Japanese-Western schoolhouse with an octagonal tower, designated a Nagano Prefecture Treasure and used as a local history museum. Official visitor pages list hours from 9:00 to 17:00 with last entry at 16:30 and free admission. Closed on Tuesdays from March through November; open only on weekends and public holidays from December through February; and closed from 29 December to 3 January.
