夕張市石炭博物館

Yubari Coal Mine Museum presents the city’s coal-mining history in chronological exhibits with audio and video memories of life in the coal capital. Official materials highlight a registered tangible cultural property—the former Hokutan Yubari Coal Mine mock tunnel—where visitors can walk through a real coal seam. The museum opened in 1980 as part of the Coal History Village developed from the late 1970s.
