The Inoh Tadataka Museum in Katori presents the life and achievements of surveyor-cartographer Inoh Tadataka (1745–1818), who made Japan’s first nationwide map based on surveys he led. Official introduction materials say exhibits follow his life chronologically and detail the Inoh Maps, including his years in Sawara before he left for Edo at age 50 after sake-brewing and village leadership work.
