Toro

登呂遺跡

Toro Site is a Special Historic Site of a Late Yayoi settlement from about 2,000 years ago in Shizuoka. Official museum pages say it was discovered in 1943 during wartime factory construction and later excavated fully from 1947 to 1950, revealing dwellings, storehouses, and some of Japan’s earliest identified Yayoi rice paddies. The find helped shape the image of Yayoi wet-rice farming and spurred the Japanese Archaeological Association. Confirm museum and outdoor park hours before you visit.
