The Sino-Japanese Peace Treaty Memorial Hall in Shimonoseki opened in June 1937 next to Shunpanro to convey the historical significance of the 1895 peace conference and the Treaty of Shimonoseki. Official pages note that the building was registered as a national Tangible Cultural Property in January 2011 for its traditional exterior detailing, and that admission is free with hours from 9:00 to 17:00 year-round.
