Miyajidake Shrine stands on a mountain long treated as a sacred precinct in northern Kyushu. Official pages say that about 1,800 years ago the site held prayers for overcoming hardship, and that Japan’s largest horizontal stone chamber here yielded twenty national treasures and hundreds of other treasures.
