崇道天皇社

Located in Nara Prefecture, Sudō Tennō-sha is a Shinto shrine established in 806 at the site of Kiji Temple. The shrine enshrines Prince Hayata, the younger brother of Emperor Kanmu. The main hall was reconstructed in 1623 and is designated as an Important Cultural Property by the national government. This site is associated with the origin of a tradition where sutras were recited for seven days during spring and autumn.
