Janes' Mansion, the prefectural Important Cultural Property known as the Western School Teachers House, collapsed in the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes and was relocated and restored in a corner of Suizenji Ezuko Park. Public viewing resumed in September 2023 according to the Kumamoto City page. Travelers should confirm current visiting arrangements before planning a historic-house visit.
