The Kyoto Bamboo Museum is located in the Rakusai Chikurin Park area of Kyoto. The facility features exhibition rooms and a tea room with an adjacent garden. Exhibits include traditional Kyo-meicho bamboo used for construction and crafts, rare bamboo seeds, and underground rhizomes. Notable historical items on display include a bamboo drainage ditch from the Nagaoke-kyo period, bamboo-reinforced concrete from the early 20th century, and a bamboo filament light bulb produced by Thomas Edison in 1882.
