Located in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, the Ōmishima Maritime Museum opened in 1972. The facility was specifically constructed to permanently preserve the Hayamaru, a vessel used by Emperor Showa for marine life research. Known as the Hayamaru Memorial Hall, the museum serves as a dedicated site for preserving this historical ship and its associated maritime history within the local community.
