備後國二之宮 知波夜比古(ちはやひこ)神社
Located in Hiroshima Prefecture, this Shinto shrine is recorded as having been established by the early Heian period. Historically situated within Sugiyama Castle, the site was fortified into a castle during the Sengoku period. Following destruction by fire in 1551, it was reconstructed in 1556 using soil transported from the sea. The main hall remains largely unchanged since that reconstruction, except for some roof and decorative updates.
