Yakuno Fossil and Folk Museum

Yakuno Fossil and Folk Museum in western Fukuchiyama presents fossils and local archaeological finds from the Yakuno area. City materials note ammonites and other fossils that show the region was once seabed, traces of Takarayama (Takura-yama)—the only volcano in Kyoto Prefecture—volcanic bombs, Jomon and Yayoi pottery, and Sue ware from kiln sites. The museum links natural history with the area’s deep-time and prehistoric heritage.
