The Former Tashiro Family Western-style House in Arita is a quasi-Western building of 1876 built by Sukesaku, son of trading merchant Tashiro Monzaemon, to host foreign guests and show early Meiji prosperity. Official town pages note its 2018 designation as a National Important Cultural Property after earlier Saga Prefecture listing, timber two-story form with porch and verandah, stained-glass arches, mixed Western and traditional details, and public opening after restoration in the Heisei 20s.
