Located in Hiroshima, the Hiroshima University Institute of History of Medicine was established in 1978 as the first museum for a national university's medical department. The facility collects and preserves valuable materials documenting the history of medicine in the world, Japan, Hiroshima, and at Hiroshima University. These materials are available to the public free of charge.
