興福寺国宝館

Located in Nara Prefecture, the Kōfuku-ji National Treasure Hall opened in 1959 as Japan's first facility dedicated to storing, protecting, and displaying cultural artifacts within a temple precinct. The building occupies land formerly held by Kamakura-period structures. It houses numerous national treasures, including Tenpyō-period sculptures of the Eight Kinds of Mythological Beings and various Kamakura-period images that were previously enshrined in the Western Golden Hall.
