Located in Uji City, Kyoto, the Utoro Peace Memorial Museum is situated within a district historically inhabited by Zainichi Koreans. The area originally served as living quarters for ethnic Koreans mobilized for the Kyoto Military Airport Construction Project starting in 1940. The museum conveys the importance of human rights and peace through the stories of those who lived in the community, focusing on the history of the local residents.
