Shinmei Shrine

Shinmei Shrine, also called Shinmei-gū, stands at 1-5-9 Ōtemachi, Shibata, Niigata Prefecture 957-0052, telephone 0254-23-1096. Its official site states that New Year purification rites are offered from 1 January onward for wishes such as household safety, warding off misfortune, directional protection, business prosperity, exam success, and traffic safety. Reservations are recommended for main-hall prayers. Each September it hosts the Shibata Toyoaki Autumn Festival, the shrine's grand autumn rite on 27 and 28 September, with a shrine market and local produce sales announced on the site.
