Located in Mie Prefecture, the Toba Sea-Folk Museum focuses on the culture of fishing villages and ama divers. The museum complex consists of five buildings designed by Hiroshi Naito. Two permanent exhibition halls present the history between humans and the sea through accessible displays. The collection includes 80 wooden boats from across Japan, some of which are designated as important tangible folk cultural properties. The facility also hosts special exhibitions and various events related to maritime culture.
