Parks

武蔵野の森公園

Musashinonomori Park is a lawn park with views over Chofu Airport, spanning parts of Fuchu, Chofu, and Mitaka in Tokyo. The site opened as Tokyo Chofu Airfield in 1941, later passed through army and U.S. military management, was fully returned in 1974, and became a park under the Chofu base reuse plan. It opened on 1 April 2000 and covers about 385,750.34 square meters. Surrounded by Musashino woodland, Furusato no Oka displays stones from each prefecture and overlooks the airfield; on clear days Shinjuku skylines are visible. Admission is free, with some paid facilities.
