Sugiyama Castle

杉山城

Located in Saitama Prefecture, Sugiyama Castle is a mountain castle from the Sengoku period. The fortress was constructed by skillfully utilizing the elevation differences of the mountains. It is recognized as one of the finest examples of a fortification from that era in the Kanto region because it remains largely intact. The site is noted for its advanced construction techniques and serves as an example of high-level castle building.
